Brec Bassinger (born May 25, 1999) is an American actress, best known for her leading role as Bella Dawson on the Nickelodeon series Bella and the Bulldogs, her role as Catherine in the 47 Meters Down sequel, her recurring roles in School of Rock and The Goldbergs, and is starring in the DC Universe series Stargirl (2020).

Brec grew up in a small town in Texas, and first went to Los Angeles for acting when she was 13 years old. Growing up she enjoyed cheerleading, volleyball, and natural beauty pageants. She was crowned the 2009 World's Our Little Miss. Her acting career started with a recurring role on Nickelodeon's Haunted Hathaways. She graduated high school at 16 and continues to expand her education. Being a type 1 diabetic, she has become a huge advocate for diabetes research and is a national ambassador for JDRF. She has now taken on the leading role of Stargirl for the CW.

Early life
Bassinger resides with her mother, while the rest of her family remains in Texas.[3] She used to play basketball, volleyball, and ran track/field.[4] Bassinger participated in beauty pageants and was an Our Little Miss World Winner. She has two older brothers named Beric and Brice.[5] She has Type 1 Diabetes.[2] Before becoming an actress, she was a competitive cheerleader.[6]
Career
In 2014 Bassinger was cast in the lead role of the Nickelodeon comedy series Bella and the Bulldogs,[7] which ran for two seasons from 2015–2016. In 2016 she joined the cast of the 2018 direct-to-video teen comedy film Status Update.[8] Also in 2018 Bassinger played the role of Roni in the Hulu television series All Night from AwesomenessTV.[9] In 2019, she starred in the thriller film 47 Meters Down: Uncaged.[10]
In 2018, Bassinger was cast in the lead role of Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl in the DC Universe television series Stargirl.[11]
